6 Hospitalized In Route 72 Rollover Crash With Life-Threatening Injuries

Six people were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after the car they were in went off the road, hit a guardrail, and rolled over, authorities said.

The crash was reported just after 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, near Exit 2 on Route 72 West in New Britain.

Connecticut State Police said the driver of a BMW SUV lost control of the vehicle and struck the guardrail. Troopers have not determined what caused the car to leave the roadway.

Paramedics rushed all six people inside, ranging in age from 20 to 39 years old, to area hospitals with serious injuries. As of Friday, no updates on their conditions had been released.

Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
